  1. nice to see in studio footage, but that music was extremely not my type of music! LOL I cant call it wack but I can say its so far removed from anything I ever want to hear that it might as well be.

  2. Of course it’s wack. Don’t ever be afraid to call it wack. Everybody doesn’t have to like Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis, but I’ll never respect this bullshit. This biker/meth-head-looking “producer” Jim Jonsin doesn’t have a musical bone in his entire body. I wish somebody could erase the quantize function on his Mpc just so I could hear the results. Simple music for simple-minded people.

  3. YO JIM JONSIN AND SOME OTHER SOFT LOOKING JERSEY SHORE PRODUCERS MAKING FRUITY BEATS WITH A STRAP ON THE COUNTER? WTF? IM CONFUSED

  4. that is one of the gayest things i’ve ever seen. dude flashing the gun makes it even more suspect.
    so damn depressing.

you CANNOT. i repeat: CANNOT, appear tough with that music playing in the background…especially when you’re making it! even pointing a gun, you will look soft as a box of tissue with aloe.

  5. flashing gunz and makeing pop music? what creative space is he in? lost me on this 1……………………..

  6. WAKKKKKK!!!!!! there someone said it ahha, man that was by far the gayest thing ive seen in sooo long. thinking there dope cause they got too much shit plugged in, WTF is finatik even doing? he can even bang out a steady beat haha. finatik needs to go back to scratching on cdj’s…..BAHAHHA wakkkk!!!

But my main point of interest…How the Fuck did this get on cratekings in the first place?

  7. Of course it’s wack. Don’t ever be afraid to call it wack.

LMAO at “Mmmhh” best advice ever given on here

  8. Them some corny assed euro-pop beats, man they must be embarrassed about this footage, absolute garbage!!! feel sorry for these dudes being so wac!!

  9. how many dudes does it take to hate on people making a beat? haha

that being said. who are those guys in the vid??

  10. I agree, this is pretty gay, Jersey shore cats, pop music, and baby guns.

But in reply to Tony Traxx, if they make a smash like “lollipop” or a “sweet dream” then that royalty check would still be pretty nice even with all those cats eatin off of it.

  11. man this is like an episode of when crate diggers attack. Not so much into the melody or synth sweeps but those drums were nice

  12. Wow… look at these comments. Do you all know who Jim Jonsin even is? He was doing hip-hop when you all were just baby’s. He is a GRAMMY winner and one of the top producers out. Maybe he doesn’t make the kind of underground stuff most people on the internet talk about but don’t buy, but he produces top songs that people in the real world actually do buy.

How many of you have half the awards this guy has? Have sold millions, etc. Just because he makes modern music doesn’t make him wack.

And how many of you have actually done production on a top selling album? Most producers use more than one person to make the song (look at Quincy Jones, Bernard Edwards, Dr. Dre, Kanye, Timbaland, etc) there is usually more than one person behind the song, read your album credits. Big difference between beat makers (which I am assuming y’all are) and a record producer.

On another note: sounds like he used that Virus patch on Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams, gotta love that sound.

    Go Jim Jonsin!

    • i would disagree there sum unknowns is wayyyyy better than this dude (afta 1) and i know this track record he lost my respect with kiss me though the phone soulja boy but really if its all about grammys then why do people j dilla so much i wonder because his music was more personal than anything jim just gives people what they want to hear

as far as buying music i support the people who are dope

    • I’d never heard of the dude(s). But there really is A LOT of odd unnecessary hate here. Or maybe everyone know Jim and they were expecting more??

    • you are on some other shit dude!? REAL WORLD?
you think mtv is the real world?
you think lil wayne, and beyonce is the real world, YOU THINK ITUNES hits is the real world? everyone on here dissin this dude, still pays for records man = crate kings

you think people talk about “underground” hip hop on the net? but dont buy it,

half the people on here are trying to make it,
trying to make something inspiring! not just make dollar signs with trashy pop music that ruins peoples idea of music.

  13. Word! I know who jim is, he is a wak producer named jim, grammy’s dont mean shit! im pretty sure ya boii “sway” layed it out when he said ” Since when did record sales determine the skill or caliber of a mc/Dj/producer,
marketing and shitty jingles has nothing to do with music. sales are not based on the people that enjoy music, there based on the masses, that dont know shit about it. they buy it cause its shiny/catchy or played out on there radio till they cant not sing it.

    pfftt jim jonsin.

you wanna put him next to dilla and talk about grammy’s and talent?

    • No ,well noted. you are right. I`ve seen his name on a lot of shit, but I`m not feelin` that vid at all. You can be the best in the game, but if you do something wack, you`re gonna get called out on it,point blank.

  14. Everything that “E” said in his post epitomizes why music is so incredibly horrific at this point. According to his logic, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are some of the best out right now. Judging an artist by record sales in this day and age, especially in the arena of hip-hop, is a n0-no. And make no mistake, EVERYthing out right now on the radio has a little hip-hop in it, whether the producers even realize it or not.
Honestly, i think that “Lollipop” beat is hard as f**k. That beat in this video? Gay as f**k. Sorry dude, but in no realm of reality does making a couple of pop hits make someone “one of the top producers out”. Sh*t is microwave right now, and I would challenge you to identify a f**king Jim Jonsin beat from a pool of 100 fruity, synthetic pop beats out there. And unless Jim Jonsin wrote Wayne’s approach to “Lollipop”, I can’t even give him too much credit for that one. There are kids in their bedrooms that would serve this dude.
The fact that you even mentioned Quincy Jones in a statement defending Jim Jonsin shows how off-base (and possibly insane) you are.

    yikes.

  15. 1. Why does everyone go back to J. Dilla? Who else you guys got?

    2. Yes there are plenty of talented people out there that aren’t on the main stage. Where are they?

    3. Taylor Swift has talent, she’s a teen that writes and co-produces her own material, and although it isn’t the type of music I listen to, she does have some skills.

    4. Miley Cyrus’ new album barely cleared 77k last week which is basically a flop so you can’t really put her in that category.

    5. Why is there so much hate here? By some of y’alls logic, if a producer/artist/DJ/beat maker sells a lot of records, then they have no talent, well… they must have some talent. Give some respect, especially to musicians, you know the ones that know how to play a C#M7 chord, auto-tune and Logic can only take you so far.

    6. Quincy Jones = producer. He did not play the instruments on the later songs he produced. If QJ was doing his thing nowadays you all would say he is wack because he has other people playing the material out. QJ collaborated with other producers … Not comparing QJ to Jonsin, just illustrating that producers collaborate.

    7. When is the last time an underground artist cleared a million+ sales worldwide. Millions of people talk about a given artist, not many are buying their stuff. Some of them might maybe if they had distribution and marketing!

    8. We all know Static wrote Wayne’s verse on Lollipop (lol)

    9. If there are kids in the bedroom that could serve this dude, why aren’t they?

    10. Some of y’all are right though, logically, good artistship sometimes does not result in album/single sales (Shout out to Kenna in Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink).

    11. Just because you all think a certain type of music is “good” music does not make other types of music bad, and vice versa. That’s the beauty of music!!

    12. I just did this to show that you all do some serious unwarranted hating when someone is successful, and then when someone is not successful and is underground, he is praised beyond belief. They say our words are a reflection of ourselves… just saying… don’t hate =)

  16. Damn. LOL. You guys are so biased to your boom-bap Hip hop it’s not even funny.

Also. I like how everyone always has to throw in Dillas name in attempt to make another producer look bad. LOL.

  17. The beat is what it is. I’m still laughing over his lil’ cap gun though! Reminded me of a corny Caucasian version of a scene from “Harlem Nights.” “Stop it, Stop it! Don’t shoot that little motha f*&%$er no mo’!” “Quiiiiiick!” Hilarious!

  18. E… I feel sorry for you do, you do believe the hype. you dont get music, you obviously are no true musician, and there is the explanation for all this hate!
Any one in here with hate towards this crap that you think is talented, is in pain because they understand what true music represents.
your sucked into an industry you obviously know jack squat about mate.

your statements tell us more than enough about that.

dilla is fricken js bach dude.
commercial producers are the scum between my toes.
they pride them selves on being able to make a beat in 20 mins,
simple because its “modern”. nope simple because its crap. made with some keyboards presets and some shitty sound kit.

quincy jones is the man. and if you noticed anything he is involved in.
Micheal Jackson! unfortunately Chris Brown! Justin timberlake, there is actually music in there songs.
lollipop is not fucking music. its a 4 bar loop on repeat with nothing more to offer.

we support what you call boom bap (only cause you dont know what boom bap is (BDP) (ERIC B RAKIM) ) because we know our history and we know what we want with the future of hip hop.

to quote mos def ” hip hops not a some big mosnter up in the hills that comes down and gives us itself, we’re Hip hop, so dont ask where hip hops going (dont be lead by fools e) ask yourself where your going?

and if its to the fucking mainstream cd shop to buy some wak plastic jim jonsin shit. then you obviously aint hip hop!

    Pete rock
    9th wonder
    El-P (actual modern music)
    Premo
    apollo Brown
    alchemist
    madlib
danjahands (actaully an amazing commercial producer)
    dj hi-tek
    large Prof
    Rza
    q-tip

just A few of the hundreds of dope producers doing shit everyday, that you dont know about, because you unfortunately to busy believing the hype.

    big up Yikes, FC, MmmHMmm

    Peace!

    • this post reminds me of the good old days when i had just discovered underground hip hop and boy would I preach the gospel like creflow dollars himself to the evil mainstream radio listeners.

      carry on

  19. You’re right Olsen, I don’t know anything about music or the business, sorry =( Thank you for educating on what ‘real’ music is, and a list of people, whom I’ve never heard of before. I’ll look into them.

Its funny, because a lot of classical musicians do not consider what you consider real music to be, real music.

FYI Danja does work with Jim Jonsins’ Team Rebel Rock all the time….

  20. ain’t nothin, but metro thug music goin’ on in this video..LOL! but seriously, even tho i’m a hard core boom bap head, i respect and feel that pop ish “IF” it’s good. i mean i AM from Virginia Beach, home of the hip-hop/pop producer icons like the neptunes, timbaland, bink & danja (can’t forget nottz raw in norfolk) so don’t think i got my jansport strapped on too tight just because it ain’t sampled, chopped with a breakbeat behind it. but this joint they made in this vid is far from dope. i don’t care how many grammy’s you got. what’s even worse is that it took 4 cats to make something mediocre. even THEY looked like they didn’t like it (except for jim and the dude on the 4000) HA!

  21. Im a classical musician, my dad is one of the best violinist in the world, we both attended menuhin school, but nevermind that, I too realize that danja has worked with jim, my point was that he actually is talented and an actuall musician, but nevermind.

I too am here to entertain.

    I do it well 🙂

    your still chirpin arent you?

  22. Im certainly not new to hip hop, just wanna stand up for it.
fucking sick of noise polution every time i walk into a club or turn on the radio, or go shopping. Im all love, but Im not gonna stand by while some idiot try’s to defend wankers like the ones in this vid.
sorry again for the outburst everyone, crate kings and E included.
the world needs more soul not more choss.

on a lighter note, how awesome is Justin bieber!

  23. sorry, all creditability goes out the window for me when guns are flashed in the studio no matter how good or bad the music is – I’m a lover, not a killer

as far as musical talent, Grammys, yadda yadda yadda, whatever – people can rate the value of music with all sorts of measurements, but take this for an example – 80’s hardcore punk rock still has an impact on kids today while 8 out of 10 “hits” from that era have been completely forgotten about

as far as comparing Quincy to these dudes, hey, whatever works for you, but I don’t see these guys being able to orchestrate music like Hawaii 5-0 or Chips – Quincy Jones made music that was timeless, these guys make pop music –

    just saying

  24. lmao – I dunno why I got it confused, QJ didn’t write those theme songs, but comparing these guys to him is still a serious stretch (no matter how bad I just failed tv theme song trivia)

    whatever

  25. I just heard that John Legend & Kelly Rowland have recorded to that beat in the Video right there, so someone must have been feeling it and Im sure they didnt pay any mind to making it a all out Video it looks like a quick fun clip they made in the middle of experimenting with their production.

You cant hate on these guys. Much respect to them, they have the Credits and Longevity to prove it.

I love Underground aswell and i would say the same to any other producer that lives and breathes their dream Much Respect to all of ya’ll trying to make it.

  26. funny thing is i know jim and i know people who work with him, he has underground artists and underground producers with mad respect that are good friends with him and would kill to do a record with him.
