Producers Mr. Dibiase and Ras G get down to the business of making beats using a microKORG, Roland SP-303, and more. It’s always interesting and exciting to see the interplay that takes place when music makers are collaborating.
[respect to DJ Rayz for the heads up!]
Check out parts 2 and 3 after the break!
what is this shit
staright bullshiiite
tony traxx, why so much hate? let these guys do their thing. i’ve seen dibiase on the red bull videos, he seems like a nice, humble dude. i wish him the best.
@tony traxx
Crate Kings does not engage in gossip, beef, or harsh, unwarranted criticism of someone’s creative work . Because of this we may have less readers than other sites, but I sleep well at night knowing that Crate Kings has solved more problems than it has created. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same thing about your commentary. There may come a time in the near future when I’ll have to seriously consider protecting the overall positive nature of the CK community vs. a handful of lost/banned readers. Hopefully you’ll understand what this means.
Update: Thinking about how to reasonably resolve this ongoing situation has today cost me 25 minutes; valuable time that could have otherwise been spent developing posts, updating site design, or responding to the backlog of email. Thanks Tony.
this video is some honest shit from people that are in the middle of making a beat, nothing more – nothing less. fuck anyone that can’t appreciate that. a lot of making beats is searching, just like these guys are doing.
Wow I did’nt think it was that big of a deal.I didnt mean anything. I dont think I said much more than the guy who commented behind me.Im not apologising for shit.All the times cats done came at me. Whatever.I thought this was a place to share honest idea’s and commentary about hip hop.Im sorry them dudes can’t make a beat .I don’t know what they did anywhere else but this is crap.Oh yeah no caps this time.I will just watch the video’s next time ‘ if im still allowed to do that.I think you should have addressed everyone for those who go harder than me with critism instead of calling me out trying to embarass me.
This is your site not mine.Get some more members then you won’t worry about me.

"Wow I did’nt think it was that big of a deal.I didnt mean anything. I dont think I said much more than the guy who commented behind me."
Ordinarily it wouldn’t have been a bid deal, however, this has been a disruptive trend for quite some time.
"Im not apologising for shit.All the times cats done came at me. Whatever.I thought this was a place to share honest idea’s and commentary about hip hop."
You’re exactly right. This is a place to share honest ideas and commentary about hip-hop. Where was the idea or commentary in your remark?
Artistic creation is a very personal experience. I would expect another creative person to have respect for that. It’s one thing to say you don’t like a beat, then offer a reason why or a way that the technique could have been improved, but simply tearing down someone’s work without explanation is completely unacceptable.
"Im sorry them dudes can’t make a beat .I don’t know what they did anywhere else but this is crap."
Do the research. Both Mr. Dibiase and Ras G are very talented and respected producers. Check their work and you’ll find that their music is more than solid. This particular video is not about the final result, but rather the music creation process and two producers working together to find a mutual sound. The concept of collaborative creation is much bigger than making a "hot beat". "
"Oh yeah no caps this time.I will just watch the video’s next time ‘ if im still allowed to do that.I think you should have addressed everyone for those who go harder than me with critism instead of calling me out trying to embarass me."
Yes, there are others who offer simple, hateful comments. Like "beater" who commented after you, they are usually first time commenters who don’t bother to list a website. When appropriate, these types of commenters have also been called out. You are not the first… do the research and you’ll find quite a few.
I’ve never tried to embarrass you, call you any names, or criticize your work in any way. I’ve always respected that you’ve listed a real website and email address, which is much more than most people bother to do, and appreciated hearing about your experiences within the industry. In fact, because I respected your opinion and wanted it heard by others, I previously explained that it’s difficult for others to read paragraphs written completely in caps.
Also, whether you realize it or not, I’ve defended you against personal attacks and deleted comments that took an unfair shot at your name and work.
"This is your site not mine.Get some more members then you won’t worry about me. Simplemantic"
Like I said before, CK aims for a simple formula… solve more problems than we create. In the end, this means that stats don’t matter all that much. Funny, even with your name calling, I’m still not attacking you. Good luck with your work.
you dont think dibiase could make beats?
seriously??
he’s done a lot of dope tracks, he got blackmilk, phonte, evidence on his beats,
you must not even do research….
@T0ny Traxx…. 0k T0ny, ive kept my m0uth shut 2 l0ng and i’m finally g0nna say it…. Y0u are the last pers0n that sh0uld be saying s0me0ne’s music is bad. Thats all i wanted t0 say.
@ ty why because you don’t hear a drum roll in my shit ? no snap ? no 2 or 3 synth ‘s playing at one time.No sample maybe ? I know 99% of the radio does he same thing but im the 1% that does my own thing.When you don’t make what everyone ealse is making it can take a while ….and he (Semantic)just got on me about critism.They said alot of producers and artists were bad.
They didn’t like Alecia Keys you belive that ! Ron Browz even said (quote) not everybody’s gonna like your beats.Your opinion is just as good as mine.U got something I can listen to ty ? I probally would feel the same way.Then again I might not.
@ TONY:
do ya research man, Dibiase is a real humble dude who has alot of battles under his belt..
him and Ras G just got that FlyLo style beats.. more experimental which is still sicc.. iono what kinda beats u like, but keep an open mind..
Man it really wasn’t that serious.If I offended anyone my bag now lets build ‘ learn ‘ and enjoy the music.
Ras G = dope.
@ tony traxx wow !!! i didnt know when u turn the machine on the beat is automatically susposed to be made for u.lol. and it was a beat off the fly. we wasnt tryin to make the next street anthem or lead single. but if u did ur homework u would know i got some of those under my belt. im sure ill destroy u in a battle like so many others with my none beatmakin self. wheres ur traxxs @ tony? to see if ur opinion holds any kind of weight
and big ups on the post of the vid, and the heads here who understand the creative process of makin a beat from scratch.
we didnt have enough 808’s in our beat. lmao !!!!!! u gotta be kiddin me. maybe we shouldnt battle after hearin what i heard. lmao !!!!

Semantik is my fam he has helped me with sale of my dvd and gave me much info…
you could have used them to get in the game
this game is very small every body knows every body.
dissin is for non producers
music is music it my not sound good to you but it may sound good to many others.
i just cut off a producer i met on the net for the same shit..
i dont want my name on the side of hate.
the most unlikey person you may meet in this game will be the person that puts you on.
you should have gave them prop’s then ask to do a callabo.
i bet they would have done it.
niggas diss me all day but never producers/artist
First part didn’t make a good impression on me – but I watched all 3, and… wow – the outcome is really great.
Dope stuff guys – I’d like to see someone dropping some lyrics on this beat.
Quality stuff
@tony:
if you aren’t noticing the phatness of this here beat combined with the apparent joy in making it you really should keep your mouth shut. i listen to this and I’m hearing:
ooooh nice groove! fucking fat snare, can’t believe it! great bass lines! awesome samples being triggered by Ras!
I honestly feel sorry for anyone unable to hear such things…
@dibiase:
endless big ups for the music!
I can’t stop listening to Fine Tuning from the Jazzy Sports compilation!
and I love that Tetris beat and Cosmic Funk with Hardware
stellar shit!
peace out everyone!
I thought it was pretty cool to hear the progression and see them at work on it. Anybody saying it sucked or didn’t sound good…well it seems you are listening to what the camera’s mic captured. Maybe if the audio was recorded direct you’d be saying something different…i dont know. But I have listened to stuff Dibiase has done and its better than most of the crap you hear on the radio these days. Much respect to him, and Ras G…well right now I was listening to Ras G’s Ghetto Sci Fi and was looking up some info on him and thats how I ended up here. That album blows my mind. As far as the videos though, I thought it was interesting to watch them using SP-303’s and a microkorg. It’s amazing what can be done with these simple machines in the right hands.
this video is pretty much basic yeah but thats cool we all have that process at every beat we make !! this video is far from wack ,ive heard mr bibiase beats and his beats are dope ,if you aint feeling the style or genre of hiphop it doesnt mena its less proffesional ,everyone should do what they good in
tony traxx has kinda embarresing beats for such a comment ,he,s like 100000000 producer in the world all the same focused on that money making beats,mrbibiase and his partner in beatcrime in this video just have fun ,thats what music is about have fun and bring a message
any one can make a 808 drumkit with keypecking notes
atleast they have not premade shit and then make a perfect beatmaking video,i got mine beatmaking video up too called beatmaking with illskilz part 2 on youtube check it out raw natural beatmaking combined synths with samples
respect to mrdibiase keep doing your thing
