Big shout to producer K-Salaam and his partner Beatnick for agreeing to take part in the latest Crate Kings producer beat battle!
K-Salaam comes from a DJ/Turntablist/Entrepreneur background, while Beatnick has that of a multi-instrumentalist/Producer/Engineer. Since arriving from Minneapolis, MN about 4 years ago the duo has landed a three album record deal with VP Records/Universal along with the opportunity to score a yet untitled film produced by Danny Glover and starring HBO Def Poet Suheir Hammad. Their first album on VP, scheduled for release in 2008, features all original songs over the duo’s production from artists such as: Trey Songz, Talib Kweli, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Papoose, Saigon, Dead Prez, and more. In addition to side projects with Mos Def, Young Buck, and Sizzla; K-Salaam and Beatnick are currently working on production for labels SRC, DTP, G-Unit (Sha Money XL), and VP Records.
