    • i hear ya . i didn’t like fruity loops 6 . it just wasn’t for me. that list on the left side seemed time consuming looking for sounds and it sounded too digital. this was 4 years ago maybe its gotten better. the playlist was what it was. i have heard some dope ass beats with it though.but i just didn’t understand its full potential and tell you the truth i didn’t stress myself over it.about the same time i started messing with reason and i love it. got an mpc 2500 yesturday from a 2000xl .fu*&*k it im blending all this s*&Ut together lol

  1. @rokwell…thats what EVERY FL user says…lol

Honestly I hate FL. I respect some aspects of it, like how easy it is to compose a song, but the sounds and the mixes are very cartoonish. i’d suggest getting your own sounds and rockin with that. personally, I use the Orion sequencer with included sounds, however i have about every drum machine sound u can think of, along with various vsti’s, module sounds, just alot of ish…but thats for my personal laptop. i use Logic Pro & Pro-Tools LE at the lab. FL beats with the exception of 9th Wonder=basuda. u can spot an FL beat across the pond whether u want to or not, and it sux that its becoming the industry standard. THIS IS ART, PEOPLE, NOT A QUICK DOLLAR SCHEME. WHEN U HALF-ASS YOUR CRAFT, WHATS IT WORTH?

    • Your right this art which can be beautifuly painted in fl I hear all these cats talkin bout I got this program or that 1 and a mpc lol all I have is fl and some soft synths korg legacy cell, proteusx, mophatx, and some samples I chopped fl is my mpc. That’s wasted money on 2 sampler sequencers they do the same thing cats keep throwing money at this art instead of there talent and don’t understand why they don’t grow

    • Are you serious??? You obviously don’t know wtf you are talking about man.. FL is used ALL ACROSS the industry by producers you probably think use MPC’s etc…get real!

  2. @Skeev0thaBeetFiend: That’s what most people in the know say. I use Reason & FL. I don’t know why you would use the stock sounds in FL. It never occurred to me because I have my own library. My mixes def don’t sound cartoonish.

    • Word like I said fl is a digital mpc nobody uses a mpc with only mpc sounds you need some records or synths and far as the cartoon mix its just these beats are not mixed right I can fix that problem it will be a pro mix peace

  3. @Skeev0thaBeetFiend At the end of the day you are using software and they both will sound the way you let them sound…. Best I Ever Had was Made on Fruity Loops rocking the Air Waves no one can tell the difference you sound like a fucking idiot… And I Swear I bet your beats are garbage to begin with… Post your myspace or youtube where you got ur beats so we can reveiw them…

    • LOL!!!! I hate when cats hate on FL studio….I have produced billboard-charting tracks and soundtrack music with FL studio..I know cats that use MPC’s and lots of hardware etc and beats sound like garbage…STOP HATING..FL Studio is a BEAST and is only limited by the producer/engineer’s skill!!!!

  4. People that say Fruityloops sucks or sounds kiddish or the sounds suck…just dont know how to mix or use equipment properly straight up. Not hating on anyone but its the truth.

I am an audio engineer so I do know what I am talking about. You can always take your mixes to pro-tools and use plug-ins, you can do a general mix on fruity plus. I’ve made countless tracks on Fruityloops when I had a PC and no one ever said, “oh that is a Fruityloops beat” I guarantee and put money on it. if I make a track on Fruityloops or Reason none of yall would recognize the difference, not even TONNNY TRAXX HAHA! what up Tony

    • Totally agreeing, if your beats sound cartoonish in FL its only cause YOU are cartoonish. Its cause YOU don’t know how to mix, its cause YOU pick wack sounds.
the effects that come stocked with FL are fine, better than 80% free stuff.

Its just that people who use hardware are usually more dedicated than just some random guy who downloads a cracked Fruity Loops.
People who buy hardware are really dedicating they life to it while a lot of cracked FL-users are just playing around with it and dont really learn they software. thats why a lot of FL-users sound cartoonish.
but i know some of the greatest producers using FL Studio also.

      • As far as the effects in fl I also have the waves diamond bundle and cakewalk, cubase effects. I use fls every time. I started out on hardware I had a roland xp80 some things went wrong with it fl a friend introduced me to fl I’m very dedicated to my music I know that software

    • yo rokwell would u give me some tips man , i got serious problems with my fl specially the sound part ,i just some weird noise that come from the sound and i just dont know how to deal with

  5. I mean im not gonna front like i hate the program cause i started with FL. I made some cool beats with it. but my homeboi put me on reason. at first i, i couldnt understand it cause of the modules and it took a sec for me to understand that you couldnt use it without a midi contrllr lol. after a while i started making beats with it and i hated it still. guess it was the learning curve since i already knew FL up and down. but then i watched another one of my partners make beats with it and i finally started to understand the software a little more. at that point i forced myself to quit FL to learn reason. now after looking back, its not that one was better then the other its just that reason brought a diff feel to making beats and the sounds it had were killing FL 5. FL has some edges over reason like being able to use VSTs and rewire. but all this can be done in with reason wih a good DAW like cubase which your going to need to use anyways for mixing sooooooo.

  6. I mess with FL6 but imma try this one out. All my music made with FL Studio or Fruity Loops. It just a tool to get your expression out. Haters need to relax and practice.

  7. Im not trying to dive too deep into this debate like a democrat or republican or something.everybody has a right to thier own opinion.. All i hafto say is i use the reason stock sounds every now and then when i get lazy. i can then tweak them or double the kick or something and it sounds pretty good i mean compared to fl stock sounds. For a kid looking for a inexpensive all around daw fl is perfect ! you can record and do it all.I feel like the only reason fruity loops became so popular ‘ maybe more popular than reason (in the beginining of course) is because you can record into it.reason couldn’t do that for a long time ! but now you can now do that in record HURRAY !!!!! so hey DO YOU . another point i would like to make is im tired of people saying let me hear your beats on your myspace page ect like thats a sure way to see if your dope SILLINESS . because you only get a limited amount of tracks on your page i think they raised it to 10 . most of us have alot of beats expecially if you been doing this for a while. that being said i heard of a producer who gave fat joe 100 beats and he only picked one but he picked one . feel me.me personally i just throw some shit on myspace to see how many people listen to it. thats how i see whats up or friends but there’s haters out there too.if 2 people listen to it i might take it off . or i might forget and leave it up there for months i dont care lol if i email you some shit or your a g like that it will be a little different story.trust me.you really don’t wanna put no butter shit on myspace anyway.unless its protected.

  8. i think everyone doing hip hop beats should learn the mp it teaches you so much its like the building block of this shit. regardless of what software you use the only thing that matters is how it sounds in the end. Trying to compare reason to fl is apples to oranges. Never use a stock sound unless its an 808 or 909 bd or you will sound like everyone everyone elses shit. I have had the best success using reason 3 redrum and protools with soft synths anything by NI is crazy.

    • Mps are not building blocks mp fl ableton reason there all sequencers I don’t need no mp your whole message contradicts what your trying to say

  9. ive used fl before i just really couldnt get into it. i made some bangers and some duds that shit just wasnt hands on enough. shit was just boring to me just tryna chop samples on a damn keyboard, i coulda copped a midi controller but shit i got a 5 year old pc that is barely running i tunes so if im in the process of making heat and it crashes thats not chillin. i prefer an mpc and im saving for one at the moment ive messed with it before and liked it better than fl. my homie uses reason mostly and he makes ill shit so in the end its what you feel most comfortable with using to each his own.

  10. I use Fl 6,7,and I have 9 demo. I also use Reason and use a MPC 2000 and a MIDI keyboard. I do admit,at first my mixes sounded cartoonish on fl studio, but like the rest said,if you use your own sounds, that makes the difference. I personally don`t like some of the plug-ins that are on display are only demo until you buy them in FL Studio. I got Reason just for that reason(no pun intended). I like the ease of the ussage of FL Studio. If I have an idea,I want to be able to put it down immediately. But I love Reason`s instruments. They just seem more authentic than FL Studio`s. My point is: It is all up to the user. You get software and gear that fits you.If that`s FL Studio,so be it. Stop the hate. It doesn`t matter. You have to be creative with ALL of it,no matter what.

  11. of course if ur using the stock kicks snares drums sounds shit is gonna sound wak..search, digg, and chop. All I’m saying do work. as long as the music sounds good, no matter what you use It’s all good.

If you use pots and pans with a waffle iron and your beat is fire f’it if it knocks it knocks.

  12. You dumbasses, reason can’t do many things that FL can. I don’t make shitty beats, I record mix and master full songs on fl. You don’t buy a daw for the samples that come with it, thats just fucking stupid. All my producer friends use pro-tools, and I can do more in FL then they can. Reason is a kids toy.

  13. Now Now ima have to step in here real quick…Now MATT you just talking garbage out your mouth…You tellin’ me Khalil is using a kids toy?

come on, if you gonna drop knowledge make sure you speak up like a man not a kid fighting in the sand box.

Lets here your beats Mr. Wonderful.

  14. “All my producer friends use pro-tools, and I can do more in FL then they can”

ima pull a tonny traxx……….^^^WORST COMMENT EVER.

  15. damn they need to post some more fl related ish got it looking like nah around here…

u can make dope stuff using fl but if your trying to get someone to spit over it its going to have to go to pt… period. I cant believe no said anything about logic or garage band. The control u have on drum in GB is crzy . If you are classically trained you can shut everything down in logic.

Rza said the most important piece of equipment in the studio is between your ears or something to that effect.

  16. lol u new generation of…”producers” kill me!
Normally its 1 side with the audacity to question sampling and hardware over software, then theres guys like yall arguing over which software is better! who cares which 1 you use at the end of the day, just respect the art…
Half of you think your doing something with your jacked sound kits, sounding like the last nigga, jacking their drums and shit, making 5min beats with your microwave sound!
but you turn around and wonder why music dont feel like it used to, or nobodys beats really move you no more…
software killed the art…call it what you want…I use/used it all…
I dont knock ANY gear, I would short myself if I did and I love music too much not to try it all…
But its 1 thing to dig for sounds/samples and chop it manually on a machine versus, loading up some .wav files where the program chops it and takes out all the fun in alot of ways…
theres to many shortcuts with production nowadays is all Im sayin…1 cant be better than the other if they’re all shortcuts to the original technique…
    the appreciation gets lost …
    Truth hurts….
FL, Reason, ableton live, etc etc all of them are cop outs IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO USE HARDWARE 1st…thats just MY opinion…
They are fun toys but, me switch over to software fulltime? HEEEELLLLL NO! whats the point of doing this shit if I cant get in there and get my hands dirty? who wants to click & drag all day? thats shit is depressing…and its MY OPINION…
Yeah I got my FL9 demo to check it out…
betcha I run into all the popular sounds on top 40 radio right now too lol….
    sad sad sad…lol…
Thank god I wasnt born in this era…

  17. “FL, Reason, ableton live, etc etc all of them are cop outs IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO USE HARDWARE 1st…thats just MY opinion”

Get OUT of here with that Bull$h1t.

ways of making music are evolving, get ya mind out of 88′ ….you don’t have to use or learn hardware to claim credibility in your production.

One thing I do agree software is making it easy for people who have no business in making music and just do it because its cool or “I can sell beats”

bu there will always be that Analog vs digital….software Instruments vs live instruments.

as long as you make good music and moves the people, it wont matter what you use….EXAMPLE – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6QsusDS_8A

    • rockwell, you must be the cratekings loud mouth….
stuck in 88? lol… you wouldnt matter if this was 88…
Its obvious you have to evolve, no question, but for gods sake dont think your some hip hop know it all if you cant even program a drum machine to produce HIP HOP MUSIC is all Im sayin…respect the fuckin art…
You new cats is too fuckin soft!
all these sorry ass trends, all this fly by night my 1st producer software setups but you cant figure out why all yall sound the same, why nobody even seems worthy to carry the torch, why nobody is selling records, why the price for production has DECREASED (cause all this software) and why yall dont get real respect….
Yeah thats herbie hancock, and thats quincy jones whats it to you?
They got more respect for the art that you probably….
Im just sepaking my opinion, its all good, I aint no hater, I listen to GOOD MUSIC, I could care less if you make it on a trashcan…
If you get into rock n roll, its wise to learn the guitar…right? riiight….

  18. Yeah, some of the icons and imagery in FL is kinda cartoony. But the results of your mix is what YOU make it. I use Ableton Live 8 and have been since Live 6 and i think its the best. But you have to choose a DAW thats right for you and the kinda workflow you do. Some are stronger in some areas than others. Example: Sonar 8 is great but if you use lots of samples or create your own sounds it is NOT the tool for the job. I play around with FL now and then but i dont care for the itty bitty mixer and itty bitty buttons on everything. And some of the names of the vsts…. the Sound Goodizer? Thats like calling salt “food goodizer”, wtf? And one of the synths comes with a little avatar that dances and sh!t. FL is just not for me.

  19. It’s really all about preference. If you are looking for inexpensive, easy to use, decent sounding DAW, then FL Studio is perfect. I have my own library of over 18,000 samples and I use FL Studio 8, currently moving up to 9 now. It serves for what I need it for, so don’t judge the program as “cartoonish” or whatever just because it’s not what YOU use, or what YOU prefer. It’s an extremely powerful program and if used correctly, and used by a talented producer, it can sound just as good, if not better than Reason & the other competition.

  20. I STARTED OUT WITH HARDWEAR. MOST PEOPLE KEEP TRYING TO DEBATE WHICH ONE IS BEST HARDWEAR OR SOFWEAR ‘REASON OR FRUITY LOOPS ECT.THE QUESTION IS WHICH ONE IS EASIER AND MORE PRODUCTIVE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL. KEY WORD the INDIVIDUAL .I STARTED OT ON A BOSS 660 WITH A YAMAHA SU 200 FOR A SAMPLER .THEN I BOUGHT A MPC 2000XL. AROUND THAT SAME TIME I GOT A COPY OF REASON FROM A FRIEND.FOR ME I LOVED THE MPC . I THOUGHT I WAS COOL. LITTLE DID I KNOW I ONLY KNEW HOW TO USE 30% OF IT IF THAT.IM NOT EVEN GONNA FRONT MOST OF US WHO REMEMBER JUST BUYING AN MPC ONLY KNOW HOW TO LOAD SAMPLES AND PRESS THE PADS ‘THEN YOU GET INTO MIDI ‘ THEN SAMPLING ‘THEN CHOPPING ‘ THEN TIME STRETCH AND THE LIST GOES ON.THEN I STARTED MULTITRACKING INTO PRO TOOLS. I NOTICED I COULN’T MULTITRACK IN SONG MODE.THEN I DIDN’T HAVE 8 OUTS SO I TRACKED ONE BY ONE. I GOT 8 OUTS FINALLY BUT I WAS LIKE MAN I GOTTA PAN THIS AND THAT THROUGH THE MIXER SHIT ! THEN I WENT BACK OVER TO REASON . THERE I COULD RUN ALL THE TRACKS IN AT ONE TIME .I COULD ALSO DO THIS IN LOGIC.I WAS LIKE OK YEAH.FASTER COOL.THEN I SAID I LIKE REASON BUT I DONT LOVE THE SEQUECER.I FOUND OUT I COULD USE THE MPC SEQUENCER AND REASON MODULES TOGETHER.GREAT ! I CANT AFFORD EVERY KEYBOARD OUT THERE FEEL ME.I COULD MAKE DRUMS IN THE MP AND USE REASON SYNTHS . THAT WON ME OVER. I STILL HAFTO TRACK IT IN BUT I ONLY HAFTO TRACK THE DRUMS.
SO MY POINT IS USE WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOUR NEEDS . I AGREE WITH SOME OF THE OTHER POSTINGS TOO ..KEEP THE MPC IN YOUR ARSENAL WITH REASON AND THE MPC YOU CAN DO ALOT ! IF YOU USE FL COOL .DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.DO WHATS MOST PRODUCTIVE AND GREAT SOUNDING FOR YOU.ALL THAT COMPARISON STUFF SAVE THAT FOR NFL SUNDAY lol

    • I WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO ANYONE READING THIS TO USE EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO WIN IN THIS GAME.JUST LIKE GOING TO COLLEGE AND STUDYING TO PASS EXAMS CAUSE YOUR COACH SAYS YOU WON’T MAKE THE TEAM WITH THAT ADVERAGE. YOU WOULD READ UP ON AS MUCH AS YOU COULD TO PASS THE TEST IF IT MEANT GETTING DRAFTED IN THE LEAGUE RIGHT ? THATS HOW I LOOK AT IT.SOME OF YOU MIGHT BE MORE ADVANCED THAN ME SOME MIGHT BE LESS .EITHER WAY THIS IS COMING FROM A MAN WHO TRIED WITH NO HELP ONLY A FEW YOUTUBE VIDEO “S AND READING A FEW BOOKS I BOUGHT FROM GUITAR CENTER FOR THE MOST PART. NOW THAT I HAVE PLAYED THE VIOLiN AND MADE YOU CRY COME BUY SOME BEATS FROM ME AND PUTT IT ON YOUR ALBUM lol IF I DON’T MAK IT IN THIS MUSIN IM GOING ON TOUR WITH TAVEST SMILEY LOL

  21. Great update! I’ve been using FL since version 2. It is nice to see it updated and updated and updated and updated… Tons of useful features.

I have a 10% off coupon code here in case someone wants to save a few bucks:
    [link removed]

I use it on my PC but my main machine is a Mac. Does anyone here run their FL Studio on their mac via VMWare or Parallels with 100% success?

I don’t understand all this “versus” talk. I have FL Studio and Logic and I also use the sequencer of my Roland Fantom G. It’s not a competition, they are all just tools.

I mean… Which is BETTER a hammer or a saw? Bob the Builder uses a hammer so it must be better, because he is famous?

  22. Y’all need to stop this FL vs Reason or hardware vs software issues….both have their pros and cons but at the end of the day it’s about how you use them. You can make hot ass beats on any of these DAW programs or MPC or what have you…but you also have to think about it in this way….you have to be creative with what you got. At some point all the famous producers used equipment that didn’t even compare to the stuff we have now…..like the SP1200….it has a limited amount of sampling time….but they made hot ass beats with it.

Use whatever you wanna use, mix it right and master it right. No matter what you use….if you do those two things all your beats will sound hot….or at least decent….lol.

  23. Well just my 2 cents I just built my home studio and software from various such as FL studio Protools and reason. I have all three software FL 9 ,
Reason 4 and Protools 8 all are exceptional programs for making music. however it’s how you use it and what your comfortable with.
Everyone just go off the hype of what their favorite producer and artist use.
I use to think FL was called a cheesey program but the more I played around with it the more I found how it can work for me as an artist and producer as far as Reason I just link Rewire and get my sounds for the keys which has a great professional sound.
Thus I can use either platform to create music.
Stop worrying about whats the hottest shit work with what you have and make music.
Your fans would not care what you made your music with as long as it sounds good and it’s a hit.

    MR MoDz

  24. FL is a good program if you use it as a DAW. Not some “beat making thing”. I bought FL because it a good sequencer, good vst fxs and sound tools and very user friendly. I will admit that most the VST synths aren’t great and some of the samples are bit simple. but hey, would on earth would you use software synths when hardware always sound some much better.

It good DAW and USE it as a DAW, so explore. Also, there are plenty of 3 party vst and you can use rewire if you need to. 🙂

  25. You should make your songs in FL then transfer them into Reason. FL provides an environment that allows you to experiment more. Every tool you need is there. However, when your ideas are solid, you’d be better off redoing the whole thing on Reason; here’s why: FL studio melodies (esp. on pianos) will sound too perfect when done in the piano roll. You should find a beautiful piano sound in Reason and try to play the melody by hand. This will give a more natural sound by having various velocities and note lengths. FL studio will always be more fun to play with, but Reason will give you that final professional sound.

  26. I’ve used reason and fl and reason is no kids toy my only beaf with reason is equipment should be universal if you have used both these programs you’ll realize how similar they are

  27. I was born in 1974 that means I’m 35 for any one who can’t count that last comment is bull I guess you ride horse and buggy cars takes away from the appreciation of travel vinyl to mps mps to software what’s hurt music which it really not hurt is the fact that software is so cheap anyone can get it you have a lot of wack cats making music you sound like someones grandad embrace the tech this stuffs been around since the 70s only difference now its affordable to all in my opinion that’s good

  28. I don’t see a reason to hate fl studio. it depends on th euser, not the equipment. it’s jus that the market is flooded wit people who pirate the program and believe that at that moment they are beat makers. they don’t take time to learnt he intracicies. I started with fl, but switched because I wanted what was so special about other DAW apps. I still got my ideas across in a similar fashion. Not necessarily more easily or more difficult. And people can’t tell what I use to make my beats, which it how it shoud be. My beats don’t sound like a “fruity loops” beat. That way they can focus on my music and not what I used to create it. It’s just a producing stereotype that fl studio is not serious DAW app

  29. OK I am sick of hearing this debate…I really am. For the old headz (and I am one too): THE MPC IS A PIECE OF METAL WITH NICE PADS, A CIRCUIT BOARD, WITH SOFTWARE PROGRAMMED INTO THE CHIPS! that screen that you see is the display of the onboard SOFTWARE! Now, that being said, the debate about software vs. hardware is all about personal preference. I know many cats with all this star trek gear around them that they don’t even know how to use (and can’t even sell a beat) and swear by hardware. And I also know 17 year olds that will kill any ole-head-hardware guy with FL in 30 minutes. My dude…it is about the “artist” not the kind of canvas they use. I have used an MPC b4 and I can tell you that I can use Reason and make beats better and faster because i am a Reason NUT!!! And you cannot make beats and music (there is a difference) in Reason until you know how to rack and plug etc. by turning the racks around to see the back of the modules. Reason is for ole headz coming into the new age. Now FL was kinda bad at first but it is better now (but I still don’t use it). Just saying. If you are a wack producer it really doesn’t matter what you use. And honestly most of the catz b*tching are probably not very good but like to take videos and pics of there Star Trek studios…fronting..when all they can do is chop samples. I applaud the new yungtaz with skill..but yes some of you DO need to learn the old stuff so you can make your new methods (FL Studio etc) sound better. Sorry so long…

  30. I went to Musicians Institute back in 2006. Do you know what the engineer said? This guy worked with Brian McKnight, Marilyn Mason, Metallica, Bone-Thug N Harmony, you name it. Do you know what came out of his mouth? “Yea there’s so many programs you can use to get professional quality, and it doesn’t matter what you use in the industry, as long as it sounds great.”

So yes, I’ve learned Pro Tools, Logic, bought Cubase, used Ableton. At the end of it all, I went right back to FL Studio. Why? Because I learned mastering, who gives a f*ck what I used! I was making quality tracks, and all I care about is making sure dudes bobbed their heads and ladies shook their ass. Trust me, no professional gives a crap what you use, the industry is a business, if your sh*t sounds right, then their will be no questions asked. All these wanna-be producers say “oh, I use Pro Tools, I use Logic, FL is sub-par.” How? I can use the same damn samples you use, master it with Waves, and use a MIDI keyboard, Korg Triton, what ever you use I can use it in FL. You guys are so egoistic, it’s a program! Master it and shut your ass up! Wasting time letting people persuade you on what to use, when you could be flipping quality tracks out as I type. Did you see 9th Wonder asking what to use? F*ck no! He mastered FL and cashed that $20,000 check from Jay Z just for one beat. “Did you think Jay Z said wtf? Let me teach you the MPC.” No! It sounded great, and it made a great record, that’s all the industry is all about. If you’re on here asking what should you use, production is not your heart. Everyone learns how to swim but do you see them asking what speedos they should wear? Hell no, get your sh*t together people.

The thing is, FL is for BEATS. It’s pattern based for beats! It’s a full DAW for beat makers. It was designed for you to not focus on it, but your music. People can’t comprehend that. A DAW, with no learning curve? Must be for kids right? Might as well stop using pencils and start using pens, they’re better and professionals use them right? smh

I’m an electronic producer, in Ableton IS for Djs, to be played live, or you’re just going to be doing twice the work acting like that session view doesnt exist. Omg and you have to flip over ass backwards to load a VST right in Cubase. Can’t just add an instrument track like a regular DAW. You have to go within the menu file and select all this other crap to get your drums on separate channels. And loading vsts for every single damn sound? Do you know how much that eats up your CPU? I’m not trying to bash, every program has a weakness, but I’m sick of people judging FL without realizing its for electronic music more than anything else and it works very well for it! Only in America it is scrutinized . Well I hope you learned something, now close your browser and master your craft!

  31. Oh and if you’re using cracked software, don’t forget you can’t release it. They will have all your rights and royalties if you do. They do check if you’re on file as soon as they find out. Peace out, and remember if it’s not in your heart, move on.

    • Hey Zen, what if you’re using the demo?

      Hah! Gotcha!

The people at Image Line want people to make music and express themselves; so much so in fact that they don’t want to interfere in the creative process/intellecual rights of their potential customers.

But they also need to make money – it’s because of this that the product is so good (where’s the open source equivalent?), but also because they welcome feedback from registered voices. They can hardly respect the opinion/suggestions of the cracked users.

It is the work and ideas of everyone who has paid for a license that the crackheads are ripping off (!), and believing they are smarter than the wallets who pay – but it’s the wallets who have a voice, and the scurrying cockroaches count for nothing.

Also the ripperoffers (technical jargon) usually possess neither the basic faculties nor skills to comprehend/execute the finer points of musical expression like tension, syncopation, counterpoint, etc, and will be doomed to create mere forgettable slush with a heavy repetitive bass beat (borung!)

Here’s an idea – take your heavy repetitive bass beat and mix in a whole load of pig snorting samples. Call it, say, Swinesong, and some people may laugh. At least you may get a reaction.

So, in summary, pay and invest more than conceptual dollars and time, or don’t pay and be trodden underfoot you talentless mean-spirited cockroaches!

  32. I used fl since 2004. Still i’m using Fl and use reason 4 also. But i cant play notes by my pc-keyboard like fl studio. I also tried Nuendo 3 but it too hard to make a normal drum beat. We should learn all the audio workstation and choose what i feel good and easy. (Arif Ahmed from Bangladesh)

  33. Fl Studio is a pretty good application. I’ve been a fan of it for about 7 years. The only thing I don’t like about Fl is the stock sounds… they suck you have to buy plugins to get the most from FL
