In a previous interview DJ Nu-Mark spoke about his use of production equipment and ran down his most wanted hardware/software features. Here Nu-Mark goes into his vinyl lined studio to delve deep into the use of Native Instruments Maschine and how the device/system has affected his workflow and music making.

I’m telling ya’ll, this thing is the truth!!! I still don’t like what all these guys are saying about the pads though…they feel nothing like any MPC or MPD controller I’ve ever used…they work just fine though.
ableton babbbbbbbbby but yea fuck that man too fucking much equipment shit people just want everything easy i ve used one but its nothing different from anything else
I GUESS FOLKS JUST STICK WITH WHAT IS EASY FOR THEM FAR AS WORKFLOW. IF YOU CAN SPEND MORE TIME MAKING MUSIC THEN READING MANUALS 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THATS WHAT YOU GONNA DO .
FOR ME REASON IS MY ANSWER AND MPC 2000XL IS THE QUESTION. THOSE 2 PECES FOR ME ARE EASY TO USE , EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW IS A MATTER OF WATCHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO OR GLANCE THROUGH THE MANUAL FOR A SECOND . WHEN YOUR NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS SH#$%T . THATS REALLY ALL YOU WANNA DO . ALL YOU HAVE TIME TO DO .
Exactly…it’s all about workflow for me right now. Reason is dope and I will always use it in some fashion but Maschine just gets my ideas done more quickly and more intuitively…def. to each his own…Maschine still has some great features though!!!
Information or Equipment Paralysis, I ordered this shit, I got an MPK-49,thinking about a new screen monitor and those computer glasses…I am stealing his set up lol….)I have Pro-Tools but like Ableton LIVE, Pro-Tools=The shit, but not midi compatability, and crashes…alot! (at least for me)… Equipment is suppose to be fun…its the small stuff that sucks..i.e transfering each sample and bank to audio than syncing than etc…. that shit looks fun.. i love making beats on my 404 but hate recording it to my mbox….. DR. STRANGELOVE WITH MY MASCHINE..
Nu-Mark is the truth
I have a lot of crap in my studio, but almost 99% of it is just plain old regular instruments – I’ve been tossing around what my next piece of beatmaking gear is going to be and everytime I see the Maschine in action, I want one really bad….probably going to be what I end up getting
