Oddisee returns with another free instrumental release. Hosted by Trek Life, West Coast Beats features 14 new instrumental tracks as teaser for the upcoming July 27th release of Trek Life’s Everything Changed Nothing.
Coming from the city of Go-Go, I’ve always loved production inspired by funk. when it comes to funk inspired hip hop, no body does it like the west. While I was on the west producing Trek Life’s album that inspiration went further than being a fan. I don’t know if it was the palm trees, beaches, or burgers but this is what I was making in LA.
That “South Central” beat is RIDICULOUS!!! I dont know how oddisee find such great drums on vinyl… the west coast clap in that beat is ridiculous….
The drums on that ‘South Central’ beat have been used loads of times.
They are from Zapp ‘More Bounce To The Ounce’
HAHAH thats funny I have that break too.. I never realized thats the same clap…
Oddisee makes that clap sound soooo dirty tho… does some serious eq’ing
easy- tiger.
Gonna check this out
dude has serious skills – solid tape
Big up Oddisee every time. The beat for the title track is a GEM!
Sounds tight. But…Black Milk unveiled a song called “Don Cornelius” in the late Spring. Hmm…
Dont sound nuffin like it to me.. 2 different worlds. Seem like niggaz just be praying for controversy. Even back when O.C. came out wit “Born To Live” and Pete Rock & CL Smooth came out wit “Take You There”(both the same exact sample), I wasn’t mad… I loved both songs
doppppeeee
Still one of my favorite compilations from Oddisee. The track at the end of ‘So Supreme’ is killer! Need that in my life..
