  1. Hi…i’ve realised that a lot of sites are actually listing the Profire 610 to be compatible with Pro Tools M-Powered…on the other hand, the M-Audio Website doesnt really specify that the Profire 610 is Pro Tools M-Powered compatible….also, theres a forum i came across that confirms that the Profire 610 is not Pro Tools M-Powered compatible for now…the reasons for this however were not given…

Its sad that an awesome tool like the Profire 610 is going to be limited….its also sad, that some of the sites are giving out inaccurate information on the product as well…this could pose a major problem for those who want to pre-order the product…

Therefore, all i want to know for sure is..is the Profire 610 compatible with Pro Tools M??……….

    Thanx!!

  2. The ProFire 610 IS NOT compatible with Pro Tools.

I just bought it along with a ton of recording stuff from GC with hopes of recording with Pro Tools – wrong there.

I was dissapointed while trying to use it and Pro Tools wouldn’t fully boot, which led me to search online and found that it wasn’t compatible.

The salesman at GC told me it was compatible. Awesome.

Thanks M-Audio. Really fucked yourself as well as the customer this time.

  3. I have some great stories about clueless Guitar Center employees… like the time I walked in to purchase TRS cables. You should have seen the way the salesperson tried to pretend that he knew what I was talking about! Very entertaining.

  4. I’ve gone through the same problems of trying to boot Pro Tools with the Profire 610. However, luckily I’ve found out it will be compatible when Digidesign releases Pro Tools 8 within the next month! I can’t wait!

  5. Hi Bongo & Steve….geesh guys..so sorry to hear about your ordeal with the Profire 610 & Pro-Tools M…i actually emailed a rep from M-Audio directly to confirm this and was informed that the Profire 610 isn’t compatible…i understand how u guys would feel…cos i almost purchased the Profire 610 without knowing this…thanx also to all the bullshit reviews online about the product’s compatibility with Pro-Tools M….

Also, i really hope its gonna be compatible with Pro Tools M at the soonest….lets all hope Bongo is correct! : )

    Cheers guys!

  6. NOOOOOO!!!! it really sucks. i dont understand why they’d release the 610 and not have it fully compatible with the industry standard protools 7.4. i mean i know pro tools 8 is coming out soon, but its been coming out soon for months. i’ve heard october release, november, december and now it looks like january at the soonest. i bought the 610 so i could have a portable protools rig over christmas but i guess those plans went down the drain with the 610….. i guess i can wait a few more months to use my brand new interface to its full capabilities…. in the mean time, GARAGEBAND AND ABLETON LIVE DEMOS!!!! (N)
